The End of Seeking:

—————————

The end of seeking may appear to require the attainment of everything that is sought.

Yet every possible object of seeking cannot be attained.

Every preferable condition cannot be permanently maintained.

If the end of seeking depends on either, the seeking cannot end.

Spiritual inquiry therefore examines what makes seeking appear necessary for fundamental fulfillment.

The question shifts from how every seeking can be fulfilled to why fulfillment itself appears dependent on seeking.

The end of seeking then concerns not the attainment of things that can be sought, but rather the resolution of what makes seeking appear necessary.

Recognizing this structure clarifies why the end of seeking is fundamentally different from the fulfillment of a particular seeking.
